HI I’m Caroline Paton!
I live just outside the village of New Deer with my husband Davie, 2 dogs, 2 horses, 2 ponies, 2 sheep, 5 hens, 1 cat and a goat called Bradley!!
Up until 2005 I worked in the finance department of an oil company in Aberdeen but thought it was time for a change, I have always wanted to work full time with animals and did work in a busy livery yard for 4 years when I was younger!
I have owned horses for over 32 years and currently own, Enya (Sienna fb) who we purchased as a 6 month old foal, she is now 7 and is out competing at elementary dressage when time permits! We very sadly had to say night night to Fred (Keiloch) who was an Arab cross Bavarian who I bred, backed and schooled myself and competed in affiliated showing, affiliated dressage and unaffiliated show jumping and I had even tried western riding, he is missed everyday. I also own 2 miniature Shetlands, Fizz, who we bred and Cinny. We also have Phoebe, who we took on from World Horse Welfare as a companion for Enya when we lost Fred last year.
I have previously competed in affiliated dressage, showing (including wining at county level), show jumping and eventing but don't leave the ground that often now.
When I was younger I used to spend alot of time at my Granny's and Uncle's farm at Keith, if I couldn't be found my mum & dad knew that I would be sitting on my pet cow No.5's back, I used to spend loads of time with the cows but No.5 was a special one.
I have had dogs around me since I was 1 year old! And now own 2 Cocker Spaniels - Oddie who we bred and Mr Moss or Mad Moss as he is called!
Davie is a police officer for Grampian police and we have been married for 21 years. Davie likes to help out with the dog walking when he isn't at work & can often be seen walking dogs in and around Methlick. Davie also likes to help out with the horse work too and did take up riding a few years back for going on a ranch holiday but prefers to keep his feet on the ground, he sometimes shows Enya in hand at local shows.
Charlie or more often know as Caroline's Dad! Charlie is now supposedly retired but he likes to help Caroline out with some of the work load, he has been around animals all his life and has had quite alot of experience with large animals.
